DON'T LET CONGRESS CENSOR THE INTERNET

Ok Everyone, I'm going to put it bluntly...

We have to stop SOPA (stop online piracy act) and PIPA (protect intellectual property act) from becoming law. While the Obama administration has already said they don't support and won't sign the bills as they are written now, that won't stop them from becoming law. Simply put, almost all the websites you go to have copy written content. For example, anyone who uploads a screen capture from a movie or TV show will be breaking the law if these are passed and while they won't be punished directly, the website itself will be blocked or shut down. Have you ever uploaded a picture that you didn't take with your camera, maybe it was a cartoon character, or a movie poster. Have you ever uploaded a video of you singing a pop song as a solo or a choir? These kinds of things would be grounds for the entertainment industry to shut down the site for only a few violations of copyright law.

Here is a very well done video that sums up the problem quite well.

Now that you've seen this you are probably thinking you want to speak up against it, well, many sites like Wikipedia, Google, Craigslist, Moby, Reddit, Airlock Alpha, and thousands more have gone dark for the day in protest of SOPA and PIPA. I am not because I want you to become more informed on this and what it really means for our civil liberties. If you go to Wikipedia, you'll be able to search by zip code who you need to call:

The scary thing is, if passed whenever you try to click a copy written image from google image search, you'll basically get something like this:

And I leave you with a fun graphic with numbers and facts:
